The project centers on a non-existent German rock band, the Lustfaust, active in East Germany between the late 1970s and the early 1980s. The fictional story of this band begins with the creation of memorabilia of every type: photographs, concert ticket-stubs, a list of albums, stories from past live performances, filmed interviews of band members, fanzines, all the way to the creation of a “real” website to convinces even the most skeptical of the existence of Lustfaust. Shovlin's latent objective is to unmask the superficiality of today's news and information, and especially those items coming from the internet.

Lives and works in London. Recent solo performances include: The Evening Redness in the West, Haunch of Venison (Zurich, 2009), Lustfaust Live, The Big Chill festival ...
