He has a natural attitude towards exploration, and is a observer of the absurd and a sort of new interpreter of Alice’s journeys. He was born in the former DDR but came to Italy to study architecture in 1996 and moved to Naples in 2001. He is one of the many foreign travelers who created and built up the image of this country through their passion for photography. His look on the city is totally new. The Neapolitan Gulf, which is a real place but also a usual symbol of the imaginary, becomes a look-out place to create an ambiguous landscape, the same landscape that an amphibious man with the eyes of a fish would stare from the water, looking at the coast and the buildings of via Partenope and via Caracciolo, the people, the things, the children. The water and the sea, a geographic limit that both hides and gets hidden, offers a filter and a chance to see with a different approach to look at he city, reversing all the points of view. Naples becomes a new Atlantis, a flowing and unexpected submerged city in a material and heavy world.
