Founded in 1991 by Mario Laporta and Valeria Tondi and counting on a group of regular contributors and a network of photographers dealing with the South of Italy, the Agency immediately affirmed itself as a reference point for both the Italian and the international publishing. Since then, specific editorial offices were launched: news, politics, sports, current affairs, economy and foreign news. Speed, punctuality, precision, total coverage of the city news, reliability and constant technological updating are the key features of this Agency which, for these reasons plays a major role in the publishing market of Southern Italy. Everyday, Controluce’s Neapolitan photographers - Mario Laporta, Carlo Hermann, Roberto Salomone, Anna Monaco, Andrea Baldo - follow the crime news of their town and become eyewitnesses who cast off the idea of a romantic photojournalism: they produce unique yet serial snapshots of almost invisible killings, stored in the agency's digital archive. The scene is reminiscent of the murders snapped by Weegee, the one of a unique occasion that recalls Palermo as portrayed by Battaglia and Zecchin, and the detail in the editing is shocking.
