He started focusing on classic art, archaeology, architecture and landscape. In the last years, he extended his interests to anthropological themes, the relation between art and faith and Southern emigration. Working with both public and private commissioners, he had chance to investigate the past thorugh his lens, from the archaeological finds in the Phlegraean Fields, to the amphitheatres of the Campania Region and the Pompeian frescoes at the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. And it’s right in that museum that he has spent ten years among classical sculptures, silently diving into the marble ghosts of the Farnese collection. Aphrodite and gladiators, Hercules and warriors; obsession vanished into images; the smell and three-dimensionality of the marble tuned into a bright surface, daring cuts, shapes and perspectives, as in between the sensual and Mediterranean memory of baron Von Gloeden and the algid distance of Marc Quinn’s wax bodies, always projected into a post-human destiny.
