With his slow look, his silent framing and his research of the ordinary, Antonio Biasiucci gave an answer to a crucified Naples and to the spectacular eye of the globalized media. All the different chapters of his work - Corpus, Magma, Vacche, Res, Ex Voto - derive from the deep and visceral features of life that, right in this town, come out strongly: water, earth, air, fire. The unedited pictures made at the end of the Eighties which portrays the alleys of the old town centre, represent a fragment of his journey, the tension towards the possible, the epiphany of a look that becomes manifest only when dilating our retina and hiding it from the black. Eye and camera work as a periscope, probing humans and stones, bodies and things, inside and outside, object and subject, always following the life cycle of the city, from death to resurrection through the perpetual and imaginary motion of light.
